How to Learn Any Language

Review .....

Just opening David Fisher's "How to Learn Any Language," I quickly realized that I had stumbled upon a monster. Comprehensive strikes me as an apt term, as this ebook clocks in at 212 pages. I'm not an expert on language, but I'd say that it touches on pretty much every aspect of learning a language.

I found the book motivating me to get working on a language study, and I felt very encouraged to renew working on my Spanish. I am sure the ebook is perfect for someone starting from scratch, and it would be great for people who have a bit of a background in a certain language and want to pick up from there.

There are plenty of solid suggestions for practice and training. There are great ideas for all the major parts, including reading, listening, writing and talking. I think it'd be great for homeschoolers in particular as it contains an analysis of how well the various curriculums work. I remember years ago when I studied a language using the Rosetta Stone software, and was discouraged that it did not work very well for me. However, reading through the ebook I was happy to find some strong recommendations for learning methods that will almost certainly work far better.

Finally, there's a great bonus addition in the second ebook, "The Language Learning Compilation." In the second ebook, David goes through the steps for how to choose a language to learn, and provides information on the dozens and dozens of languages you can choose from.

I'd highly recommend the book to any homeschooler who is looking to start studying foreign language. Actually, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to start studying a language for any reason. I'm going to go back through and get working on my Spanish again.
