Homeschoolers Need To Remember Their Test Taking

Tests - of Course!
Every course you take is going to have tests. You will probably have more tests than any other type of paper or project.

How soon will you have tests?
You will probably start to have tests in a given class about three weeks after the start of the semester and from there you will likely have tests every couple of weeks.

I have had a test as early as the second week of the semester.

Then too, some instructors are going to base the entire class grade on as few as two or three tests. This is good and bad. Fewer tests will be more widely spaced apart, but more emphasis will be put on each one, meaning you need to score well on them all.

What kind of tests will you see?
The kinds of test you have will be mostly based on the type of class.

In English courses you will have mostly essays and short answer, with a variety of multiple choice and true/false mixed in. With the less subjective-based courses you will see more multiple choice based tests, as in science or history. You will still be likely to find essays on these tests as well, though. Math will be mostly problems, but do not be surprised if you find some questions testing you on your knowledge of the theory and information behind working the math.

Most instructors will tell you what kind of questions they are going to ask, how many there will be, and what information they intend to cover.
