Sonlight Homeschool Curriculum is the Best !!

What is it about homeschool curriculums that drive us all nuts? Well let's see what makes it so difficult to pick one out ---

There are many, many to select from!
They are not exactly cheap!
To some extent, the curriculum shapes the student's learning experience.

While being homeschooled, we used about 3 or 4 different sets of curriculum over 5 years. I don't think it would be fair to go on about the curriculums I did not really care for, but I will tell you which curriculum I simply loved-

I honestly think the Sonlight homeschool curriculum was the best thing that ever happened to my education. The basis of Sonlight's curriculum is the large selection of books that the student (and teacher) read. Literature and history come through in spades.

I think the two years I spent with Sonlight curriculum gave me the most complete selection and interpretation of historical events I have had through my schooling career. Even after a few years of college, I still prefer the learning process and results I had with Sonlight curriculum.

However, I do realize that Sonlight curriculum is not for everyone. For instance, it is very heavy on reading in particular. For those who do not like reading and want to read a bare minimum, I would suggest you avoid Sonlight. Furthermore, Sonlight is a Christian based homeschool curriculum. While it is not particularly stringent, and the majority of the reading is non-Christian, the guide book and the world view presented is particularly Christian (on an evangelical basis, not any particular denomination). It is a time consuming curriculum, but I enjoyed the large majority of the reading.

I guess it is pretty obvious that I think Sonlight curriculum is fantastic. I honestly could go on and on, but I think it might save us both some time if you just checked out their website, at www.sonlight.com
