Take a Personality Aptitude Test
Before going into college, or applying for jobs, it is most definitely a good idea to know what you would like to do for a living or major in at college. If you are not very sure, like most of us, you should consider taking a personality aptitude test to find out what kind of vocation fits your personality best.
There are a variety of materials that will enable you to do this on your own, in the privacy of your own home. Or you might find that the college you would like to go to offers some kind of service similar to this.
I took both and got similar results on each. If your potential college or technical school nearby offers some sort of personality aptitude testing, you could go there and scout out the staff as well as finding potential career advisors. Also, there are such tests available online, but as always, the quality of free online things are always questionable.
I would caution you to be careful in what you base any decisions on. If possible, take a variety of tests and compare your results as all available tests should do a comparable job of helping you evaluate what would be your preferred employment or major. If you score high in similar areas on multiple tests than that should give you a good idea of what you may want to pursue. |
