Homeschoolers Need To Know What Math They Will Need

Decide What Math you Need
It is basically up to you concerning how far you want to proceed in math while you are being homeschooled.

You can take math courses all the way up to calculus and beyond, but here is the trick. You will either have to test out of calculus if you have already taken it, or you will have to take it again. This is not so bad if you are confident in your testing ability, or if you really know your math. Otherwise, you might consider waiting and taking calculus just one time, as a college course, like I did.

Or, you might even decide you do not need advanced math and hold up at trigonometry or a comparable level.

I would suggest that you should advance as far as you comfortably can, and if you have trouble with math, or your teachers are uncomfortable teaching advanced math- you can always take it as a college course. The bottom line is, though, you need to take at least enough to fulfill your state’s requirements for math.
