About Mike!!
So,
you want to know more about me? Alright, where should I begin --- my
name is Michael Dinger. I was born in Michigan about 19 years ago. I
currently live with my parents in South Carolina where I am attending
Presbyterian College.
 I
went to public school in Michigan up until 6th grade when my dad got a
job in South Carolina. That year we moved south, and after much thought
and consternation, it was decided that we (my brother, sister and I)
would be homeschooled. This was cause for much celebration in my case.
I did not particularly care for public school, and I figured that if I
was homeschooled everything would be smooth sailing.
I, at the
age of 12, had visions of spending all my days fooling around and doing
nothing. Well, I was wrong about the fooling around part, but I was
right that it would be smooth sailing. I loved being homeschooled. Much to my own surprise, I actually began to enjoy learning. Furthermore, I never once missed the experience of public schools.
After
a couple years, I was ready to begin thinking about college. Before I
knew it, I found myself enrolled in Tri-County Technical College for
English 101. It was only a couple months after I turned 16 and I was
going to take a college course for both high school credit and college
credit. Now, I did not really know the first thing about college.
With
much anticipation, I finally stepped into a college classroom that
Fall, and after a few classes, I found it was not really all that bad.
Even so, I had never done anything like it before and felt rather
unprepared. The good thing was, though, that since it was my only
college level class, I could focus on that and then do my homeschooling
work as well. It was a tentative first step into the college world.
I
finished that class and signed up for English 102 and College Algebra
for the spring. Little did I know that college algebra would turn out
to be too easy for me. I ended up dropping that class and took only
English 102 in the spring.
It
was a good thing I took those two English classes before going on to
graduate a year early and begin college full time. I am certain I would
have been overwhelmed if it were not for my early college experience.
That
brings us to date where I'm about to go into my junior year as a
business major at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.
